Agricultural soil for sale in Salento
Agricultural soil for sale in Salento, in the countryside of the municipality of Morciano di Leuca.
The land, located along a secondary road that leads from the town to Torre Vado (marina of Morciano di Leuca), has an area of approximately 14,200 square meters.
On the land in question, there is a peasant house with an attached sheepfold, built between 1930 and 1940.
The static conditions of this structure are very poor, so it will be possible to request authorization for demolition and reconstruction with possible expansion of the surface (using the building index of agricultural land). The index of agricultural land is equal to 0.03 cubic meters per square meter of land.
The land is mainly characterized by the presence of olive trees, but a part of it is planted with pine trees and typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub. Near the pine forest, there is a structure from Salento’s history, namely an ancient Calcara.
THE CALCARE
The calcare were ovens made with heat-resistant stones. It was lit for many days and fed every 5/10 minutes until it reached a temperature between 800 and 1000 degrees Celsius. At that point, the limestone lost its carbon dioxide and was transformed into quicklime, which was then treated with water until it was transformed into paste (or slaked lime). Lime was used both for mixing with sand to obtain mortar and for painting the walls of houses.
In Salento, very few structures have been found still in good condition.
